Vocabulary

loophole – an exception in the agreement that allows you to technically break the rules

eg: Only 18 foreign movies can be released in China every year, but there is a loophole that states if the movie has a certain percent of Chinese cultural content it can be considered a joint production, and therefore is not technically a foreign movie.

saturation – the amount of color in an image.

eg: A black and white image, may have no saturation.

as is – accept the thing without changing it

eg: The phone screen was broken, so I bought it as is for only 30 yuan.

eg: You can buy this phone as is for only 30 yuan.

saturated – full or have a lot of something in it

eg: The cell phone market is saturated, it’s hard to start a new cell phone company because the other companies already have most of the market.

going to a place – go there

eg: I”m going to the store this afternoon.

going to DO something – will do something/ have a plan to DO

eg: I’m gonna buy a new computer.

eg: I’m gonna go to my friend’s home after work

wanna – want to

eg: I wanna get a promotion.

pander V. – 1. to promote something so that you can get the benefits from it only,

2. to do or provide what someone wants or demands even though it is not proper, good, or reasonable

eg: American movie studios pander to Chinese audiences by putting a few lines of Mandarin into the movie.

Grammar

Present Continuous    –               I’m getting off work (when?)   (if you say nothing, must be now)

Present Simple Tense –            I get off work at 6.         (Usually or always)
