Vocabulary

poison N.  poisonous ADJ. – something in plants, mushrooms that if you eat it, will make sick or maybe even die.

eg: Don’t eat that mushroom, it could be poisonous.

Venom N. Venomous ADJ. – a poison from an animal

eg: Australia has so many venomous snakes.

efficient ADJ. – use less time, money, things, but get more

eg: He is an efficient worker, he finished the job in 1 hour. All other workers finish it in 4 hours.

eg: He can do less homework in Australia, but learn more in class. So the schools here are more efficient than in China.

inefficient – use too much, but don’t get very much

strange – qi guai 奇怪, not normal, can’t understand why

slang – li yu, some words used by local people

eg: Is that Australian slang

Even though it is a little inconvenient for us to live here, the environment is nice, people are friendly and the schools are better than in China.
