extend – make it longer

eg: Can we extend the deadline.

expand – make it bigger

eg: Can we expand her responsibilities.

show up – to arrive, to be there

eg: When are you gonna show up?

deduct (V) – to take away from the total

eg: You can deduct 10 yuan because only 9 out of 10 people showed up.

deductible – for Tax forms, things you can use to reduce the amount of tax you owe

eg: If you have kids, you should mark them as deductibles on your taxes. Then you will get a larger tax return.
