Vocabulary

The garment technician caters to the designer. They give the designer support to realize (V) their vision.

The language barrier is a problem, but we can overcome it.

work on – to do some work, make progress on a project or task. eventually finish it.

eg: I’m working on the bulk garment production at the moment.

eg: I ordered a 5KG steak, I already ate 1kg of it, and I’m working on the rest.

eg: I’m almost finished eating now, but I’m still working on it.

eg: I’m working on checking the samples, I should be done by tomorrow.

get back to work – return to work, continue working

eg: Sorry, I need to get back to work.

wick/ wicking – the ability of a fabric to dry out or remove moisture.

eg: Cotton and wool wick moisture away.    Polyester is bad at wicking moisture away.

abrasion –  the act or process of damaging or wearing away something by rubbing, grinding, or scraping

eg: Corduroy is very abrasion resistant.  It won’t be damaged by rubbing on a rough surface.
