Vocabulary

moth – an ugly butterfly
eg: I think those moths were eating my shirt.
Roughing it (V) – usually with camping, but also just dealing with a situation where you don’t have modern conveniences.
eg: They didn’t even have wifi, we are really roughing it.
eg: My grandpa always said, those city boys can’t rough it in the woods.
played out – Like a song, when you hear it too many times it becomes old and boring
city boy – a guy who can’t really handle outdoors things
homebody – a person who spends a lot of time at home
eg: He is a real homebody now, always staying at home and watching tv.
social butterfly – a very social person who knows lots of people
eg: Jacob is a social butterfly. He is really outgoing.
hermit – a person who lives alone and far away from people
eg: Sometimes I become a hermit on the weekends. I guess I just like relaxing, haha.
speculate – to think about WHAT IF…? and make guesses about it
eg: He is only speculating about next years sales. Those numbers are not real.
Do you think the company will really do that?
eg: I can only speculate. I can’t be sure.
hypothetical – a situation that you imagine, if it was real….
eg: Hypothetically speaking, if you were the boss, what would you do?
eg: I have a hypothetical question. Would you quit your job if your salary won’t be increased at the end of the year?
eg: Hypothetically speaking, if he meets your requirements, can you agree to marry with him?
