Vocabulary

finance(n):(the management of) a supply of money

e.g I don’t have experience in finance

require(v): yaoqiu

e.g I think they require you to have a degree in that

head hunter(n): people who’s job is to help you find a job

“turn a new leaf” : new life

character(n): xing ge the particular combination of qualities in a person or place that makes them different from others

e.g it is important to find friends with a similar character to you

confidante(n) : closest friend(guimi) kɒn.fɪ.dænt

e.g I don’t have too much confidantes, there are only three I can talk

‘speak ill of others’: huai hua, to talk badly about other people//spoke badly

e.g some people they like to speak ill of others.

brag(v):to speak too proudly about what you have done or what you own (to show off)

e.g a friend of mine likes to brag about everything

nag (v):to criticise or complain often in an annoying way

e.g  when I was a little girl my mum always nagged at me

dispirited (adj): not feeling much hope about a particular situation or problem (xiaoji) (opposite of hopeful)

e.g I don’t dispirited stories they are not helpful for anything
