Vocabulary

tear (v): to pull apart

can also be a noun

e.g her shirt had a tear(n)

rip (v): to pull apart (quicker)

e.g her t-shirt was ripped

 accident: something bad that happens that is not expected or intended and that often damages something or injures someone

e.g was the rip on her t-shirt an accident? (pr:axsident)

design (n): shiji

e.g her white t-shirt looked like it was ripped, but I feel it was a design

(it was designed(v) that way)

e.g I don’t change designer because if their clothes I think comfortable me I will buy it

correction: i’m not picky about designers, because if I think their clothes are comfortable for me I will buy it.

Comfort is more important than the designer.

picky(adj): tiao

e.g I’m picky about clothes’clothing quality, brands and cost.

correction: clothing not clothes (think of the ing like 的 about …)

e.g when we have dinner I always pick restaurants.

always + when or if before saying an example of something e.g If we go to the restaurant I will want to pick the food.

quality(n): how good or bad something is

e.g I like adidas because it wore very comfortable

correction: it is very comfortable (to wear)

Casual(adj):not formal (maybe everyday) (informal)

e.g sneakers are casual shoes

sneakers: exercise shoes

formal (adj): for special occasion/important (e.g wedding)

e.g high heels are formal shoes

slippers: open toe shoes

e.g I was wearing a pair of slippers in the summer

I like adidas from Japan more than from China because it‘s quality is better than Chinese quality.
