Problems on the Road
On my way back to Shanghai from my hometown this past holiday, I encountered some problems. I had not booked the return ticket in advance, because I hadn’t decided wether or not I wanted to go back home for the national day. It’s really difficult to book high-speed rail tickets. I tried to book them online two days ago, but it was not working. All tickets were booked, but I hoped someone would return theirs.
In the end, a friend of mine helped me book them. I just had to pay her some service fee on top on what I would pay at the railway station.
Even though she helped me to book the tickets, it was not a direct train to SH from my hometown. I had to transfer to a different train in Nanjing, and had to spend an hour at NJ station .
When I arrived in SH, it was almost 9 o’clock in the evening. I was afraid of wasting too much time waiting for a taxi , so I booked one in advance. I usually call a taxi driver I know when I need a taxi to the airport or the railway station, because that helps save time.
