In October, China has the weeklong National Day Holiday, one of the country’s two longest holidays. It has become the most popular time for weddings and this year a lot of my friends and classmates are also getting married. Because I will need to attend many weddings, I will be busy and broke at that time.
I already have seven days off, but I have to take three more. That means that I’ll have ten days off in a row. I know that my boss will be unhappy about that, but I have no choiceI only have one body, so if there’s a time conflict between two or more weddings, I will attend the one of the closest friend or classmate. In fact, unless my best friend invites me, I dislike being a bridesmaid. It takes a lot of time and in China many people think that if a young single woman is a bridesmaid over three times, it will be hard for her to find a husband. It’s a strange thing.
