an excavator 挖掘机

You can use an excavator to dig holes, move earth or to dig a ditch.

/!\ Hint: ex = OUT, cave = HOLE

–> excavate = pull something OUT of a HOLE

a dictator 独裁者a ruler who has complete power over a country, especially one who has gained it using military force

a despot = a ruler with great power, especially one who uses it in a cruel way

Fidel Castro was a dictator who controlled everything Cubans could do or not do. He was often called a despot by Americans.

a cigar = a huge cigarette, often produced in Cuba

Cuba is famous for its cigars

salsa = a Cuban dance with a man and a woman

In Cuba, salsa is taught to children from their youngest age.

secular = not connected with religion 世俗的

Most of the population in Senegal is Muslim, but the country itself is not governed through religion, it is a secular country.
