Vocabulary

dormitory (n): 1- a large building at a college or university where students live.
E.g.: Guests at the camp can stay in private cabins or for a smaller fee in the dormitories.

Franchise (n): 1- a right to sell a company’s products in a particular area using the company’s name.
E.g.: Each store is owned by an individual who pays a fee for the franchise.
E.g.: The franchise has proved to be extremely lucrative.

Sightseeing (v): 1- the activity of visiting interesting places, especially by people on holiday.
E.g.:  We did some sightseeing in Rome.

head off (v): 1-to start a journey or leave a place:
E.g.: What time are you heading off?

hang out (v): 1-to spend a lot of time in a place or with someone.
E.g.: They spent the whole day hanging out by the pool.

hang on (v): 1- to wait for a short time. 2-to hold or continue holding onto something.
E.g.1: Hang on a minute – I’ll be with you in a moment!
E.g.2: Hang on tight – it’s going to be a very bumpy ride.

(rice) paddy (n): 1-a field planted with rice growing in water.
E.g.: Farmers live in bamboo houses surrounded by rice paddies.

disclose (v): 1- to make something known publicly, or to show something that was hidden.
E.g.: The journalist refused to disclose her sources.
