airtight (adj)-密闭, completely closed so that no air can get in or out:
E.g.: Biscuits will stay crisp if you keep them in an airtight container.

optimize (v): 优化, to make something as good or effective as possible:
E.g.: If you optimize the production process you could speed up the assembly line dramatically.

flight attendant (n)-空中乘务员, someone who serves passengers on a plane:
E.g.: The airline’s flight attendants are trained to limit the number of drinks passengers receive on board.

optimist (n)-乐观主义者, someone who always believes that good things will happen:
E.g.: She’s a born optimist (= someone who has always been optimistic).

pessimist (n)-悲观主义者, someone who feels that bad things are more likely to happen than good things:
E.g.: In the coming months pessimists will say that stocks are not a good buy.

wholesale (adj, adv): 批发, of or for the selling of goods in large amounts at low prices to shops and businesses, rather than the selling of goods in shops to customers:
E.g.: wholesale prices
E.g.: a wholesale supplier/business
E.g.: We only sell wholesale, not to the public.

quantity (n)-数量, the amount or number of something, especially that can be measured:
E.g.: Police found a large/small quantity of drugs in his possession.
E.g.: We consumed vast quantities of food and drink that night.

rationalize (v): 1- to try to find reasons to explain your behaviour, decisions, etc.:
E.g.: She rationalized the cost by saying that an expensive carpet would last longer than a cheaper one.
