upset (v): 1- to make someone worried, unhappy, or angry:
E.g.: It still upsets him when he thinks about the accident.
E.g.: Don’t upset yourself by thinking about what might have been.

upsetting (adj): 1-making someone feel worried, unhappy, or angry:
E.g.: Seeing her again would be an upsetting experience after so many years.

diplomacy (n): 1-the management of relationships between countries:
E.g.: Diplomacy has so far failed to bring an end to the fighting.

2-(approving) skill in dealing with people without offending or upsetting them:
E.g.: It took all her tact and diplomacy to persuade him not to resign.

diplomatic (adj): 1-involving diplomats or the management of the relationships between countries:
E.g.: diplomatic negotiations
E.g.: All diplomatic attempts at a peaceful solution to the crisis have been fruitless.

2-approving acting in a way that does not cause offence:
E.g.: Ask him nicely – be diplomatic.

fruitless-无益的 (adj)-If an action or attempt to do something is fruitless, it is unsuccessful or produces nothing of value:
E.g.: All diplomatic attempts at a peaceful solution to the crisis have been fruitless.

fruitful (adj): 1- producing good results:
E.g.: It was a most fruitful discussion, with both sides agreeing to adopt a common policy.

resign (v): 1-to give up a job or position by telling your employer that you are leaving:
E.g.: He resigned from the company in order to take a more challenging job.
E.g.: She resigned as director.
E.g.: She resigned the directorship.

resignation (n): 1-the act of telling your employer that you are leaving your job:
E.g.: There have been calls for his resignation.
E.g.: I handed in/gave in/sent in my resignation this morning.
