Pole (n):极点 1-either of the two points at the most northern and most southern ends of the earth, around which the earth turns:
E.g.: the North/South Pole
E.g.: Most weather satellites are stationed over the Equator or travel over the poles.

equator (n):赤道 1-an imaginary line drawn around the middle of the earth an equal distance from the North Pole and the South Pole:
E.g.: Indonesia is/lies on the equator.

satellite (n): a device sent up into space to travel around the earth, used for collecting information or communicating by radio, television, etc.:
E.g.: The World Cup was transmitted around the world by satellite.
E.g.: a spy/weather satellite
