Vocabulary

grater (n): 1-a metal device with holes surrounded by sharp edges used to cut food into small pieces

grate (v): 1-to rub food against a grater in order to cut it into a lot of small pieces:
E.g.: grated cheese

peel (v): 1-to remove the skin of fruit and vegetables:
E.g.: Peel, core, and chop the apples.

peel (n): 1-the skin of fruit and vegetables, especially after it has been removed:
E.g.: apple peel
E.g.: potato peel
E.g.: The dessert was decorated with strips of lemon peel.
E.g.: What shall I do with the peel?

stir (v): 1- to mix a liquid or other substance by moving an object such as a spoon in a circular pattern:
E.g.: Stir the sauce gently until it begins to boil.
E.g.: Stir the egg yolks into the mixture.

stir-fry (v): 1-to fry small pieces of meat, vegetables, etc. quickly while mixing them around:
E.g.: Stir-fry the chicken for one minute, then add the vegetables.

stir-fry (n): 1-a method of frying food while mixing it quickly, or food cooked this way:
E.g.: We’re having a vegetable stir-fry for supper tonight.
E.g.: I don’t like stir-fry.

yolk (n): 1-the yellow, middle part of an egg:
E.g.: I like eggs lightly cooked so that the yolk is still runny.
E.g.: Separate the yolks from the whites.

egg white (n): 1-the transparent part of an egg that turns white when it is cooked
E.g.: Beat egg white until very stiff.
E.g.: Beat egg whites stiffly and add them lightly.

stiff (adj): 1- firm or hard:
E.g.: stiff cardboard
E.g.: a stiff collar
E.g.: His clothes were stiff with dried mud.
E.g.: This hair spray has made my hair stiff.
E.g.: Mix the powder and water into a stiff paste.
​2-not easily bent or moved:
E.g.: The handle on this door is rather stiff.
E.g.: The man’s body was (as) stiff as a board when it was found in the snow.
​3-If you are stiff or part of your body is stiff, your muscles hurt when they are moved:
E.g.: Sitting still at a computer terminal all day can give you a stiff neck.
