Vocabulary

appointment (n): 1- a formal arrangement to meet or visit someone at a particular time and place:
E.g.: I’d like to make an appointment with Dr Evans, please.
E.g.: She had to cancel her dental appointment.
E.g.: Please cancel my appointments for tomorrow afternoon – I have to go to a funeral.

by appointment-at a previously arranged time:
E.g.: House for sale, two bedrooms. Viewing by appointment only.

hammer (n): 1-a tool consisting of a piece of metal with a flat end that is fixed onto the end of a long, thin, usually wooden handle, used for hitting things
E.g.: She hit her thumb with the hammer.
E.g.: She took a hammer and knocked a hole in the wall.

hammer (v): 1- to hit something with a hammer:
E.g.: Can you hold this nail in position while I hammer it into the door?
E.g.: I could hear you hammering upstairs.
E.g.: My car’s got a dent, and I was hoping they’d be able to hammer it out (= remove it by hammering).

pore (n): 1-a very small hole in the skin of people or other animals, or a similar hole on the surface of plants or rocks:
E.g.: Sweat passes through the pores and cools the body down.
E.g.: Pimples form when pores become blocked with dirt.

acne (n): 1-痤疮. 2-a skin disease common in young people, in which small, red spots appear on the face and neck:
E.g.: Acne is the curse of adolescence.
