Vocabulary

meteorological (adj): 1-relating to weather conditions:
E.g.: Accurate meteorological records began 100 years ago.

tier (n): 1-one of several layers or levels:
E.g.: We sat in one of the upper tiers of the football stands.
E.g.: My wedding cake had four tiers, each supported by small pillars.: 1-

blizzard (n): 1-a severe snow storm with strong winds:
E.g.: We once got stuck in a blizzard for six hours.
E.g.: Blizzard conditions made the main roads almost impassable.

impassable (adj): 1-An impassable road or path cannot be travelled on because of bad weather conditions or because it is blocked:
E.g.: Many roads were flooded and impassable following the storm.

flood (n): 1- a large amount of water covering an area that is usually dry:
E.g.: After the flood it took weeks for the water level to go down.
E.g.: The river is in flood (= water has flowed over its banks) again.
