Vocabulary

unfortunately (adv):1-used to say that something is sad, disappointing, or has a bad effect:
E.g.: Unfortunately, I didn’t have my credit card with me, or else I would have bought it.

unfortunate (adj): 1- unlucky or having bad effects:
E.g.: She has inherited her father’s large nose, which is very unfortunate.

fortunately (adv): 1- happening because of good luck:
E.g.: Fortunately, we got home before it started to rain.

E.g.: You’re very fortunate to have found such a nice house.

vibe (n): 1- the mood or character of a place, situation, or piece of music:
E.g.: The music has a soothing vibe.
E.g.: I didn’t like the place – it had bad vibes.

inherit (v): 1-to receive money, a house, etc. from someone after they have died: 2- to be born with the same physical or mental characteristics as one of your parents or grandparents:
E.g.1: Who will inherit the house when he dies?
E.g.1: All her children will inherit equally.
E.g.2: Rosie inherited her red hair from her mother.

Used to express a surface of something:

• I put an egg on the kitchen table.
• The paper is on my desk.

Used to specify days and dates:

• The garbage truck comes on Wednesdays.
• I was born on the 14th day of June in 1988.

Used to indicate a device or machine, such as a phone or computer:

• He is on the phone right now.
• She has been on the computer since this morning.
• My favorite movie will be on TV tonight.

Used to indicate a part of the body:

• The stick hit me on my shoulder.
• He kissed me on my cheek.
• I wear a ring on my finger.

Used to indicate the state of something:

• Everything in this store is on sale.
• The building is on fire.
