amid = among, surrounded by, in the middle of (something exciting or scary)

duck 低下
If someone throws a ball to your face, duck and try to avoid it.
a coma = a loss of consciousness for a very long time, usually due to illness or disease
After my car accident, I stayed in a coma for one week.
I was very sick, so the doctors decided to induce me in a coma.
a stroke 中风
Many old people suffer a stroke in hot summer.

Grammar
It’s my first time to meet him –> It’s the first time I meet him
It’s my first time to meet him last week –> It was the first time I met him last week.
Last week, I met him for the first time.
