The South Korean supreme court announced that President Park was dismissed/relieved  from her position a few days ago. It is alleged that she colluded with her close friend. This scandal was revealed at the culmination of her career, just at the moment that she wanted to promulgate a new law to extend her presidency. Her and her team of lawyers had no sound reasons to oppose this alleged scandal, so a total of eight judges all voted guilty for her incompetency. She has become the first president in South Korea to be impeached and fired.

This event has gripped the public’s attention for less than half of a year. Demonstrations were held almost every week. Especially, after the verdict/decision was released/announced, the emotions of the Korean people met their apex. There were two sides besieging the court prior to the final result to support or oppose the decision.

The South Korean Supreme Court announced that President Park had been dismissed/relieved from her position a few days ago. It is alleged that she had colluded with a close friend of hers to grant her favors in exchange for bribes. This scandal was revealed at the culmination of her career, at the precise moment that she was to promulgate a new law designed to extend her term.

Her team of lawyers and her apparently didn’t find any sound way to justify this, so a total of eight judges pronounced her guilty of embezzlement and abuse of power. She has thus become the first president in South Korea to be impeached and fired.

This series of events has now gripped the Korean public’s attention for more than half of a year. Demonstrations have been held almost every week. The emotions of the Korean people met their apex after the verdict/decision was released/announced a few days ago. While the trial was talking place, there were two opposing sides besieging the court and waiting to support or oppose the eventual verdict.
