I watched two episodes of Modern Family this weekend. This is a famous American TV series, there is a total of ten or eleven seasons and it won a lot of awards in America as well as in the world.
It mainly tells the story about the daily lives of three different but related families. One is a typical American family, the parents Phil and Claire live with their three kids. Another one is Claire’s father Jay and his Columbian wife Gloria and Gloria’s son, we can call this type of family “Rob the cradle”because Jay is old and people sometimes think Jay is Gloria’s father. The last one is Jay’s gay son Mitchell and his partner Cameron, they adopted a little Asian girl. Through three different family scenarios, we can have a good understanding/learn about American living and American culture.
