allergic 过敏

I often sneeze when I’m allergic. I’m allergic to dust.

admire 钦佩
envy 羡慕

Many people admire me and some even envy me.

stronger 更强

To assume is a bit stronger than to suppose.

I suppose he’s late = he is maybe late (50%)

I assume he’s late = he is probably late (80%)

apples and oranges  = completely different 迥然不同

You can’t compare Smart English and Web English. It’s apples and oranges.

I was on my way to the store so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and also go to the bookshop.

The grass is always greener on the other side 这山望着那山高

I am thinking of going to work in Spain, but you know, the grass is always greener on the other side

=maybe it’s not that good to go to Spain

= it’s not always as good as it looks
