controversy 名词 = a lot of public discussion and disagreement

controversial 形容词 = that creates controversy

condone = tolerate a behavior that is wrong

paedophilia = sexual activity with children

I think there is nothing that condones paedophilia. No matter what you say or what you do, it’s always wrong.

footage = a part of a video

I saw footage of the football game on TV.

thrive = become successful (a person, a company, a country)

Many foreigners have thrived in China, and have become rich quickly.

provoke 挑衅 = try to make someone angry

Trump has thrived on provocation. He has become successful by making people angry.

misogynist = against women

Feminists often accuse Trump of making misogynist comments.
