Vocabulary

behavior– huodong- the attitude of a person

eg. Smoking is a bad behavior.

eg. My brother had bad behavior when he was little.

social-jiaoji- to communicate with other people- to talk

eg. WeChat, Facebook, QQ, are social websites and apps.

eg. I love going to coffee shops to be social.

eg. I love wechat because I can be social with my friends.

emotional-ganchu- having many feelings- can be good or bad

eg. I am emotional when I can’t speak English.

flexible-biantong- being able to change without caring

eg. I think it is good to be flexible in life.

eg. The times I go to sleep at night are very flexible.

pregnant– yunfu- to be growing a baby inside

eg. When my older sister was pregnant she always vomited/threw up.(nauseous-zuo’ou)

craving– chan-to really feel or want something

eg. Pregnant women sometimes have very strong cravings.

Grammar

I like my new job because it is more interesting. It is more stressful. I like working with foreigners. So I must improve my English. I studied English for three years when I was in University. Then I graduated and I never used my English so I forgot a lot.

Pronunciation

Children of older mothers grow up happier. They have fewer behavioural, social and emotional problems. A researcher said older mothers are more flexible and more easy-going. They do not shout at or hit their children so much. He said this means children grow up in a better world.

 

Older mothers worry less when pregnant. They are happier about having children. This means they are more caring. They also have good relationships, more money and a better education. Children of older mothers have better language skills. Maybe older mothers spend more time with their children and talk to them more.
