Writing exercise

Today, I was awakened by my dogā€™s non-stop barking. My aunt visited us to see my grandfather.

My grandfather had a heart surgery in the previous several months. He temporary lived in my home so that my mom can take care of him. Grandfather is quite old and no one is allowed to mention how old he is in our family. In the old Chinese traditions, itā€™s unlucky to remember the specific age for an old person.

In my memories, he always looked very kind and silence. Previous years ago, when he was around 80 old, he could walk for an hour to the park nearby his home everyday, rain or shine, until he fell in some day. After that day, he lost a lot of things, he couldnā€™t walk to anywhere he want, he couldnā€™t stay alone. He just sat in his wheelchair and looked away.

I know he feels sad now, and I feel the same. I hope he can continue his life as before but something never turns back again, and the only thing we can do is to accept.
