Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, Toad was at his house and decorated the tree. He looked at the clock but it wasn’t moving.

Toad opened the front door and said, “Frog is late” but he wasn’t late because actually the clock was broken.

Toad thought terrible things happened to Frog. He thought that Frog fell into a deep hole.

Toad opened the door again and didn’t see Frog. Then he thought Frog was cold, wet and hungry in the forest.

Then Toad thought that Frog was being eaten up by a big animal with sharp teeth.

So he went to the cellar and found a rope to throw to Frog and pull him out of the hole.

Then he went to the attic to find a lantern to help Frog see the light through all the trees in the forest.

Then Toad got a frying pan from his kitchen to hit the big animal and make the sharp teeth fall out.

Toad ran out the door and right into Frog.

Frog said, “I am very sorry to be late. I was wrapping your present.”

Finally, they sat on their chairs in front of the fire and looked at the new clock that Frog gave Toad.
