SHOULD has 2 meanings : HAVE TO and I THINK

1. HAVE TO (recommendation)
   Be careful, you should close the door when you leave = You have to close it
   Don’t forget the the door should be locked. = It has to be locked
2. I THINK (assumption)
   I don’t know where the boss is but his coat is here so he should be close. = I think he is close
   I fixed the problem. It should be ok now. = I think it is ok now.

Be careful when using “should”. Sometimes it’s not clear at all!

“The parameters should be safe” = They have to be safe. / I think they are safe
“He should see a doctor soon” = I think he will see a doctor soon / He has to see a doctor soon !
