a whip 鞭子

a stirrup 马镫 = the ring where you put your foot in when riding a horse

a yurt = a traditional tent used in Central Asia

In Inner Mongolia, the temperature varies a lot from day to night.

a desert = a place with nothing, only sand or ice
If you go to a desert, always bring a lot of water.

a backpack = a bag you carry on your back
One of my friends walked across the desert with only a backpack.

a ponytail = a lock of hair that looks like a pony tail 辫子 (pony = small horse)

diverse = with many different elements
Chinese food is very diverse.
Shanghai is a very diverse city. You can find people from everywhere.
