Today is Wednesday.

“The boss will come tomorrow.” = Thursday

“When I asked him last week, he said the boss would come the next day” (the day after he said it)

He will come tomorrow and we will visit Shanghai the next day (=the day after tomorrow)

We visited Shanghai yesterday and he arrived here the day before (= the day before yesterday)
