Lisa and Jay were girl friend and boy friend. A few years ago, there happened something that made them misunderstand each other. Jay thought of Lisa as someone who just wanted to have everything her way, while Lisa thought of Jay as a hypocrite. As a result, they broke up.
However, years later, Jay found he couldn’t forget Lisa, so he decided to ask her out to have a talk. “Maybe we could de-escalate and get back together if we have a straightforward conversation.” He thought.
He got up the courage and called Lisa.
“Hey, it’s Jay.”
“Oh,hi. Nice to hear from you! How are you?”
“I’m doing well! I just wonder if you want to go out tonight and have a talk.”
“I’d like to but I’ve already got plans.”
“No worries! Rain check.”
After hung up, Jay became anxious:”Should I take it at face value or see it as she doesn’t want to see me?” At the same time, Lisa called back:”I just checked my schedule and I’ll be free tomorrow night. Do you mind to change it to tomorrow?”
