compel = force someone to do something

I didn’t want to do it, but my mother compelled me to get up and go to school.

He offered me a gift for my birthday last week, now I feel a bit compelled to return the favor.

I want to speak about growing up in general.


by far = with a great difference

Shanghai is the best city in China by far. All other cities are a step under.

walk (all) over someone = to control someone, treat them badly, take advantage of them

The snake let people walk all over him


deep =/= superficial (shallow)

Children only see the superficial story while grown-ups can perceive the deeper meaning.
