Q: Your plan after you get in
A: I graduated five years ago and I have been a teacher for 5 years. During this years, I find that my academic knowledge cannot satisfy my daily work. So the main reason why I want to study here in your uni, is to equip myself with more academic knowledge about teaching. I would put most of my study time in reading… and enrich my knowledge.  But as you can see, teaching is a practical thing. So in my spare time, I will also teach as a part time job to put the knowledge into active use. Apart from that, I will collect information and accumulate my teaching experience and put them into a book or a paper. I really want to publish that book, both as a confirmation of myself and as probably a guide to other new teachers, and really I can help them.

A: I graduated five years ago and I have been a teacher for 5 years/for all of them. During recent years, I try very hard to plan my lessons and engage my students, but I seem to be at a bottleneck. When I find difficulties in teaching, I would read books and the more I read the more I want to learn. So I have found/I have come to realize that in order to fulfill/satisfy my desire to become a better teacher than I am now, I have to come/go back to school. So the main reason why I want to study here in your uni, is to equip myself with more academic knowledge on teaching. I would put most of my study time in reading… and enrich my knowledge.  But as you know, / of course,/ obviously/ since teaching is a practical ability,  in my spare time, I will continue to teach part-time to put the knowledge I learn here into active use. I think I will be able to identify my improvements and weak areas better in this way. Apart from that, I will collect information and accumulate my teaching experience and put them into a book or a paper. I really want to publish that book, both as a self-confirmation/realization and as probably a guide to other new teachers who are just starting out, like I was.

The main reason why AI teachers can’t replace human teachers is that AI teachers don’t have emotions. Even though teaching means imparting knowledge, we can add positive emotions to this process and make it more humane. If a teacher shows his love and care to his students, the students will feel more motivated and willing to learn. Teachers positive emotions are especially important to little kids and primary school students.

But on some occasions the teacher shouldn’t care too much about a certain student. This is actually a teaching strategy: the teacher purposely doesn’t talk to the student so that the student can calm down by himself. Does it show that the teacher is emotionless? No! On the contrary, this teacher is careful and wise enough to detect certain situations and is able to deal with these special occasions in a diverse way. In other words, the teacher has both emotions and wisdom. So if a teacher sometimes has a poker face, don’t think he is emotionless. He might be both considerate and intelligent and is doing what great teachers will do in class.

This is actually a teaching strategy: the teacher doesn’t talk to the student on purpose/ purposely ignores the student so that the student can calm down by himself. Does it show/this mean that the teacher is emotionless? No! On the contrary, this teacher is careful and wise enough to detect certain situations and is able to deal with these special occasions in diverse(many different) ways. In other words, the teacher has both emotions and the wisdom to control them at will/for a specific purpose/to guide the students.
