Vocabulary

Orphanage– place where children go to be taken care of because their parents can’t take care of them
E.g.: In China if the parents are too young to take care of their child they will send them to an orphanage.

Foster care– where a child under 18 goes to be taken care of because they have no guardian or their parents can’t care of them. 2- State-run funded homes where children can be placed for care.

Nursing home– a place where older people go that can’t take care of themselves
E.g.: If you can’t take care of your parents in the US many children send them to nursing homes.

Scam-pianju
E.g.: Some parents say when you grow up I will give you all your hongbao back, but they lied, it was a scam.

Grammar

  • Do you think sending your loved ones to nursing homes is a kind of abandonment? I don’t think it is humane to send your parents to a nursing home.
