to look back – to look back at the past
e.g. Tanya left Belgium for Shanghai and she hasn’t looked back since.
tattoo – 文身
e.g. A lot of football players have tattoos.
leopard – 豹子
scenery – 风景 (nature)
tourist attractions – places tourists go when they visit a place
e.g. We’re going to do all the tourist attractions next time we’re in Beijing.
to eradicate – to erase
determination – 决心
to be determined – to have determination
e.g. He graduated from university and was determined to start his own company.
mark – points on a test, grade
sweeping – very powerful, very strong
e.g. It was a sweeping victory for him, he won 90% of the votes.
to seize – when someone takes something from you as a sort of punishment
e.g. The police seized all the criminal’s guns.
outright – completely
e.g. In Japan, handguns are banned outright.
