…in the back of my mind – always thinking about this one thing no matter what you do (e.g. I recently had a bad job review, this whole week it has been at the back of my mind)

Vocabulary

Paramedics – a person who is trained to do medical work (e.g. when my brother fell down the stairs I called the paramedics immediately)

Stumbled – to trip (滑道了)

Freak accident – an unexpected accident (e.g. The doctors said my sister’s broken leg was the result of a freak accident)

Cliff face – The edge of a mountain (“stay away from the cliff face” Brian shouted.)

Blissful – Pleasant or nice (e.g. Once my baby had fallen asleep all I could hear was blissful silence)

Blossom – (e.g. Most flowers blossom in spring)

Beckoning – to call or try to get someones attention (e.g. my teacher was beckoning me forward to the front of the class)

Shattered – to break into many pieces (e.g. the glass shattered when it hit the floor.)

Impending – something that is about to happen (e.g. the prisoner was awaiting his impending judgement)

Marrow – what you find inside bones (e.g. I love bone marrow soup)

Ceased – finished (e.g. The talking ceased when the teacher walked back into the classroom)

Comas – a state of unconsciousness that lasts for a long time.

Notification/to be notified – to be told about something (e.g. the teacher was notified that his class for today was cancelled)

Consciousness – to be awake and know what is happening around you (e.g. he regained consciousness immediately after he awoke from his coma)

Memorial – something like a structure that reminds people of an event or person (e.g. My family and I went to the war memorial to pay our respects to my great grandfather who died in the war)
