eaten = NOT FINISHED (或者时间不重要). I HAVE eaten Chinese food for 20 years.

I have been to Beijing.

Have you been to Henan? I haven’t been there.

Yes, I have. I went to Zhengzhou.

In English, we often used the UNFINISHED voice for the first sentence and continue with the FINISHED voice.

Have you eaten? Yes I have, I ate dumplings.

Have you been to Hong Kong? Yes, I have. I went there 2 years ago.

Have you been to Korea? Yes, I have. I went there last year. The weather was good.

How long have you lived in Shanghai? I have lived here for 3 years. I lived in Zhejiang before. It was a beautiful province. I was born there and studied there.

Have you turned off the light? Yes, I have. I also turned off the A/C.

The Chain Game

If I lived in America, I would often go out.

If I often went out, I would spend a lot of money.

If I spent a lot of money, I wouldn’t have any money left.

If I hadn’t / didn’t have any money left, I would be hungry.

If I was hungry, I should find a job.

If I found a job, I could make some money.

If I made some money, I would go out again.

It’s a vicious circle = 恶性循环
