Vocabulary

Trial (n): 1- a test, usually over a limited period of time, to discover how effective or suitable something or someone is. 2- the hearing of statements and showing of objects, etc. in a law court to judge if a person is guilty of a crime or to decide a case or a legal matter.
E.g.: I just signed up for Apple Music’s three-month trial.
E.g.: He’s going to face trial for his wife’s murder.

Probation (n): 1- a period of time at the start of a new job when you are watched and tested to see if you are suitable for the job. 2- a period of time when a criminal must behave well and not commit any more crimes in order to avoid being sent to prison:
E.g.: I will be on probation for three months before they sign my contract.
E.g.: He was fined and given two years’ probation.

Streaming (n)the activity of listening to or watching sound or video directly from the internet:
E.g.: Spotify is a music streaming website and app.

Effortless (adj): 1- seeming not to need any effort.
E.g.: When you watch her dance it looks so effortless.

Self-esteem (n): 1- belief and confidence in your own ability and value.
E.g.: The compliments she received after the presentation boosted her self-esteem.

Counterproductive (adj): 1- having an effect that is opposite to the one intended or wanted.
E.g.: Improved safety measures in cars can be counterproductive as they encourage people to drive faster.

Subordinate (n): 1- having a lower or less important position. a person who has a less important position than you in an organization
E.g.: The individual’s needs are subordinate to those of the group.
E.g.: He left the routine checks to one of his subordinates.
