obligatory – something that you must do

eg: “It’s almost obligatory to ask someone how their holiday was.”

Vietnam – yue nan

eg: “Saigon is the capital of Vietnam.”

profit margin –  a measurement of difference between profit and cost.

eg: “Restaurants usually have very thin profit margins.” “iPhones have big profit margins.”

a ton – slang for a lot of

eg: “Apple makes a ton of money.”

1000 – one grand

eg: “He got a bonus of ten grand this year.”
