Vocabulary

Vaccine (n): 1- a substance that is usually injected into a person or animal to protect against a particular disease.
E.g.: Scientists are trying to develop a vaccine against HIV. 

Injection (n): 1- the act or process of forcing a liquid medicine or drug into someone or something by using a special needle
E.g.: She had to get an injection to stop the infection.

Therapeutic (adv): 1- something that produces good effects on your body or mind.
E.g.: Gardening can be very therapeutic.

Quarantine (n): 1- the period of time during which a person or animal that has a disease or that might have a disease is kept away from others to prevent the disease from spreading.
E.g.: Dogs are held in a 40-day quarantine before entering the country.

Contagious (adj ): 1- able to be passed from one person or animal to another by touching.
E.g.: They were afraid that the disease could be contagious.
