Answer negative questions with a negative reply.

Q: So you can’t play volleyball with him?

A: No, I can’t play volleyball with him.

Q: So, you’re not 12 yet?

A: No, I’m not 12 yet.

Q: You’re not a girl, right?

A: No, of course I’m not a girl.

Vocabulary

yet – still didn’t do something, but will do it soon.

fun – something you enjoy doing eg: “I think playing volleyball is fun.” “You don’t need to be good at something, to have fun.”

negative – meaning no or not eg: “In English you shouldn’t use a double negative: He can’t not do it.”

reply – hui da – for someone to talk back to you or answer your question.

Sentence: I am so busy today.

Reply: Yes, you are so busy today.

Wanna = want to  wanna to = want to to  eg: Q: “What do you wanna do after class?” A: “I wanna go home after class.”

Gonna = going to + (v, do something) eg: Q: Are you gonna finish all your homework tonight?” A: “No, I’m not gonna finish all my homework tonight.”

going to – 1. go to a place eg: “I’m going to the store later.” “I’m gonna the store later.” 2. going to + (V) “I’m going to eat ice cream after lunch.” “I’m gonna eat ice cream after lunch.” “I’m gonna go to the store later.” “I’m going to go to the store later.”

Lemmee – Let me eg: “Lemmee see your book.” “Lemmee play with your ipad.”
