Ali’s clients is being less – Their client base is shrinking.

Most people could mix Taobao with Alibaba. Actually, Taobao is just one of Alibaba’s products. Recently, they created a new online platform called Alifish to do IP licensing. Maybe Alibaba have seen its big picture and wants to get benefits from it. Ali licenses IP to his clients and his clients sell products on Taobao. We all know there are many knockoffs on Taobao. I am confused how could Ali protect licensed clients’ rights.

In this May, Ali took part in IACC which led to Michael Kors and Gucci left. Because they all consider that Ali provides a chance to others to sell fakes. Why Ali can do it? I think they are taking advantage of the loophole that they just provide the chance, not sell fakes personally. Who is selling fakes is against the law. I don’t see eye to eye with Ali as well as Gucci and MK. If Ali really wants to do something ground breaking, they need a change of pace.

Maybe Alibaba has seen the big picture for IP licensing, and wants to benefit from it. Ali licenses IP rights to their clients and their clients sell products on Taobao. We all know there are many knockoffs on Taobao, so I am confused how Ali could protect licensed clients’ rights.
