Vocabulary

syrup – a thick and very sticky sauce, very sweet and often used on breakfast foods. Can be from a Maple tree.

“I have never tried syrup.”

preceding – coming before another thing

eg: “The preceding days to Spring festival are very cold.”

fermented – a change brought about by a ferment, as yeast enzymes, which convert grape sugar into ethyl alcohol.

eg: “Wine is made from fermented grapes.”

coincidence – when two things happen at the same time, but do not have the same cause.

eg: “What a coincidence, I didn’t know you were going to New York too.”

coincidentally – adv.

eg: “I met him coincidentally in New York.”

various – of different kinds

eg: “there are many various fish in the sea.”

adjacent – next to

“The adjacent train station was damaged by the wave of molasses.”

convert – to change from one unit to another.mile per hour to kilometers per hour. ”

eg: “Can you convert this to a .pdf?”

hide – to put something where people can’t find it

eg: “Where do you hide your money.”

a Cover-up (n)- when people hide some history or events.

eg: “Some people think Aliens are real, but there is a government cover-up.”

Comet – an ice ball in space

eg: “Comets sometimes almost hit earth, but they burn up in the atmosphere.”
