Write a paragraph using some of the words you’ve learned in the past three lessons.

Vocabulary

Hurt (v): 1- to feel pain in a part of your body, or to injure someone or cause them pain. 2- to cause emotional pain to someone. 3- to cause harm or difficulty.
E.g.: A lot of businesses are being hurt by the current high interest rates.
E.g.: Tell me where it hurts.
E.g.: She criticized my writing quite severely and that hurt.

Hurt (adj): 1- injured or in pain 2- upset or unhappy.
E.g.: Let me help you up. Are you hurt?
E.g.: I feel very hurt by what you said.

Broken (adj): 1- damaged, no longer able to work. 2- suffering emotional pain that is so strong that it changes the way you live, usually as a result of an unpleasant event.
E.g.: He attacked the man with a broken bottle.
E.g.: He was a broken man after his wife died.

Prime (n): 1- the period in your life when you are most active or successful.
E.g.: This is a dancer in her prime.

Grotesque (adj): 1- strange and unpleasant, especially in a silly or slightly frightening way.
E.g.: By now she’d had so much cosmetic surgery that she looked quite grotesque.

Soul (n): 1- the spiritual part of a person that some people believe continues to exist in some form after their body has died, or the part of a person that is not physical and experiences deep feelings and emotions. 2- 灵魂
E.g.: She suffered greatly while she was alive, so let us hope her soul is now at peace.

Diverse (adj): 1- including many different types of people or things:
E.g.: New York is a very culturally diverse city.

Plastic Surgery (n): 1- 整形外科
