Vocabulary
Restaurant(s) – 餐厅- a place you go to eat
e.g. There are a lot of restaurants in Paris.
To serve – 服务
Waiter(s) – someone who serves you at a restaurant
e.g. Every restaurant needs waiters.
To want – 要
Hungry – 饿 – when someone wants to eat, that person is hungry
Menu – 菜单 – something you look at to see what food a restaurant serves
Bill – 单 – something that shows you how much you have to pay
To show – 给人家看
To pay – 付钱
Please – 请
Waiter, can I have the bill, please? – 买单
Capital – 首都
e.g. Paris is one of the fashion capitals of the world.
To study – 读书
To start – 开始
Just – 刚
e.g. Lynn just started studying fashion.
To order – 点菜 – 是
Sample dialogue
Lynn: “Waiter, I’m ready to order” – 服务员, 我准备好点菜。
Waiter: “What would you like to order?”
Lynn: “I want to order this sandwich.”
Waiter: “Great. Anything else?” – 很好。还有其它?
Lynn: “No, I’m fine. Thank you.”
Anything else? – 其它?
