Corrections

Because weather is good – because the weather is good

I went to shopping – I went shopping

When I’m ill – when I’m sick (both are correct, but “sick” is easier to say than “ill”)

Vocabulary

Note: today’s words are focused on pronunciation.

Dizzy – the feeling of spinning, 头晕

Ex. when I am sick I will get dizzy

Eel – a king of fish and seafood, 鳗鱼

Sick – ill, 生病

Sack – a bag, usually made of cloth, 口袋

Suck – to take in liquid or air, 吸管

Peace – 和平

Piece – 片

Weak – the opposite of strong, 软弱

Plain – 朴素 – play n

Grammar

The verb “to use (用)” can also be a noun (名词). When it’s used as a verb, it’s pronounced “yooz” but when it’s used as a noun, it’s pronounced “yoos.”

Phrases

For everyday wear = 平时穿 (if we are not talking about clothes, we can say “for everyday use (yoos)”)

To use vs Use

I use (yooz, 动词) my water bottle every day.

My water bottle has many uses (yoosiz, 名词复数).

I bought it for everyday use (yoos, 名词).

And I plan to use (yooz, 动词) it tomorrow.

Use (either yooz or yoos)*

*Work on “S” vs “Z” pronunciation.

Ill (short “I” sound as in “big”)

Eel (long “EE” sound as in “real”)

Sick (“I” as in “big”)

Sack (“A” as in “apple”)

Suck (“U” as in “but”)
