Vocabulary

Vegetarian (adj): 1- person who does not eat meat for health or religious reasons or because they want to avoid being cruel to animals.
E.g.: Of the four million people who have become vegetarians in this country, nearly two thirds are women.

Prejudice (n): 1- an unfair and unreasonable opinion or feeling, especially when formed without enough thought or knowledge:
E.g.: He had to battle against prejudice to get a job.

Pale (adjn): 1- used to describe a person’s face or skin if it has less color than usual, for example when the person is or ill or frightened, or if it has less color than people generally have.
E.g.: She has a naturally pale complexion and dark hair.

Tan (n): 1- pleasantly brown skin caused by being in the hot sun:
E.g.: She was showing off her tan in a little white dress.

Neurologist (n): 1- a doctor who studies and treats diseases of the nerves and the brain.

Sibling (n): 1- a brother or sister.
E.g.: I have four siblings: three brothers and a sister.

Cousin (n): 1- a child of a person’s aunt or uncle, or, more generally, a distant (= not close) relation.
E.g.: My brother’s wife and I both had babies around the same time, so the cousins are very close in age.

Nephew / Niece (n): 1- a son / daughter of your sister or brother, or a son / daughter of the sister or brother of your husband or wife.
