staycation = a vacation spent at  home

at the turn of the century = around the beginning or the end of a century

tourist trap n = a place which attracts tourists but can be expensive or not as interesting as claimed

pitfall n = a danger or risk

E.g. One of the pitfalls of investing in a foreign country is government instability.

visibility = the ability to see or be seen

ferry = a shuttle boat
