Vocabulary

Ethnography (n): 1- a scientific description of the culture of a society by someone who has lived in it.
E.g.: One of the aims of ethnography is to contribute to an understanding of the human race.

Hereditary (adj): 1- (of characteristics or diseases) passed from the genes of a parent to a child, or (of titles and positions in society) passed from parent to a child as a right.
E.g.: Breast cancer is often hereditary.

Inherit (v): 1- to receive money, a house, etc. from someone after they have died.to be born with the same physical or mental characteristics as one of your parents or grandparents.
E.g.: Who will inherit the house when he dies?
E.g.: Rosie inherited her red hair from her mother.

Ancestry (n): 1- your ancestors who lived a long time ago, or the origin of your family.
E.g.: He was proud of his Native American ancestry.

Propensity (n): 1- the fact that someone is likely to behave in a particular way, especially a bad way.
E.g.: She’s inherited from her father a propensity to talk too much.
