Vocabulary

excess – something that is more than is needed

eg: “Xin Jin Ping cut down on excess government spending, especially for dinners.”

I suppose – i guess

eg: “I suppose you could eat ice cream for dinner, but it’s not really healthy.”

supposed to – should have done something

eg: “I was supposed to call my friend after work, but I got too busy and forgot.”

privatize – to make something go to the private business sector

eg: “In America the government likes to privatize organizations because they feel that the free market brings more competition and eventually a better result.”

wool – sheep’s hair

eg: “They have a very expensive wool carpet.”

lenient – not strict

eg: “Police can be more lenient with university students.”
