Vocabulary

Stuck-up – when someone doesn’t want to talk to someone or do something because they think they are better than that. (e.g. My cat always acts very stuck-up, whenever I want to cuddle her or play with her she will always run away or try to bite me.

A pet is not just for Christmas – a pet is not a gift for one day, you have to take care of it for many years.

Dog Pound (n) – a place where stray dog are put after they have been caught. (e.g. I recently went to the dog pound to adopt one of the stray animals there.)

Crawl – to move around on your hands and knees (e.g. I had to crawl under the table in order to pick up my phone.)

Pre-drinks – when you drink cheaper alcohol with friends before going to a club or bar. (e.g. When I go out in Shanghai me and my friends usually go to family mart first to buy beers for pre-drinks.)

House wife – someone who stays at home and looks after the family and house.
